Our first day in northern England brought us to Hexham in the Northumberland region of England, where indigenous Picts once battled the Romans, and Scots clashed with English kings.

Here we are in Hexham on our first full day in England. Omi was thrilled to be back in the United Kingdom touring the medieval cathedral and the surrounding flower gardens, Our self guided tour was cut short by a funeral for one of the priests at the Hexham cathedral. Our next stop was a coffee house for sandwiches, hot chocolate, coffee and tea.
